Giving thanks...

Central Park

Central Park Foliage

Central Park

It was an absolutely breath-takingly beautiful day in New York today....all weekend, in fact. The weather was just one of many great things about this lovely holiday (long) weekend. Ohh how I *love* family, and friends, and giving thanks, and turkey, and sleeping, and frolicking in the park, and laughing and not working...there was MUCH to be grateful for this Thanksgiving....much.

winter...

Today I am wearing a turtleneck sweater. And it has been snowing in Jersey. And this week is Thanksgiving. And all of the office buildings in my work neighborhood are decked out with lights and wreaths and bows and cheer....

I am not sure how all of these things came to be so suddenly, but...here we are, people. WINTER. (yet I am still writing "July" on my checks.....??)

...and that's really all I have to say today...

this just in...

Everyone's favorite Beatle (well, my favorite Beatle) is rumored to be romantically involved with New Jersey trucking heiress, Nancy Shevell. (Somehow I don't really see a Liverpudlian-music-legend and a trucking-Jersey-girl named Nancy as a "good fit"...but, eh, I'm sure the heiress part helps.) The best part of this news? Ms. Jersey lives in MY NEIGHBORHOOD!! Wahoo! (See folks, this is why I love New York. This would never happen in - say....Omaha.) Perhaps Sir Paul and I will pass each other on Second Avenue. Perhaps he'll buy me a Tastee Delight and we will chat about his musical genius, and I will sing him a ditty, and then he will want to fly me to Abbey Road Studios to record with him (both of which, by the way, are on my list of Things To Do Before I Die...that is, meet Paul McCartney and record in Abbey Road Studios). A girl can dream....O and she does...

In other news...everyone needs to listen to and support this station. This is what keeps me sane at work. They always keep the classics coming (Dylan, Jackson Browne, George Harrison) and play the BEST indie-folk-rock. Here are a few I've discovered this week:

Keren Ann
Dan Wilson
Ollabelle

Furthermore, it is Thursday. Which is only one day away from Friday. Which is the key to My Freedom. (Can you tell I've been lovin' The Day Job lately??)

And lastly, I l-o-v-e how on these blogspot posting pages, at the bottom where you are supposed to label your post, they give the example of "scooters" as a labeling option ('Labels for this post: e.g. scooters, vacation, fall'). It makes me giggle everytime. If only my life were so interesting that "scooters" were a necessary part of my labeling needs.
