December 8th.

December 8, 2010. The 30th anniversary of John Lennon's death. An emotional day, for sure. Last year at this time we were in Central Park at Strawberry Fields, surrounded by fellow fans, singing songs, taking photos and basking in the love and companionship of other Lennon supporters. Tonight there wasn't really any singing or recognition, just a small Christmas gathering with Dan's classmates and a glasses of red wine. It was a simple and lovely party to celebrate the end of the semester and holiday season, but no talk of John, no remembrance. The loss is definitely more present and observed in New York, knitted into the memory and fabric of that city. Missing that tonight....
