Santa Fe Recap.

A little sampling from our time out west. These pictures don't do it justice, but it was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. Every single day. Warm temps, sunshine, blue skies. Every day! There was hiking around an ancestral pueblo site, snow shoeing up in the mountains, shopping, yummy dinners out on Canyon Road, movie-watching, etc. Oh & the sun (have I mentioned the SUN!?) I didn't realize how much I needed warmth and sunshine until I was able to soak it in for a week straight...

...aaand now we're back to lovely New England "spring" weather (30's + snow. yes snow. ughhhh). But I don't want to talk about that. Look at this!

Heading out tomorrow (Lord willing & no travel issues!) to beautiful, sunny Santa Fe for some quality R&R time with my dad. Can't wait to breathe in that fresh air and take in those mountain views.....YAY for vacation! May be on here sporadically next week....or maybe not :) We'll see.....have a great weekend/week!

Back to the real world...

winter garden theater

All things considered, it was a relatively smooth process getting back to the city from Santa Fe on Friday. Post-vacation found us diving head-first into New York adventures (like taking in the above Broadway show) this past weekend. Dan's mom was here for a short visit (it had already been postponed once b/c of Snowmaggedon) and we wanted to give her the full NYC experience. It was lots of fun, but now I am p-o-o-p-e-d. Glad to be back to "normal life" with some alone time to catch up on silly mundane things like Bachelor-watching & blogging :)

Back to Santa Fe though. It was wonderful! ...sigh...it's just such a lovely & peaceful place. Such fresh air, so many good restaurants, such inspiring art. Love it. Some highlights from the trip include:
~spending time with family
~skiing in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains with my brother & Dan
~walking Canyon Road
~wine by the fireplace almost every night
~beautifully clear, crisp weather every day
~lots of restful downtime (finished this fantastic book in about a day)

And since I was so terrible at taking pictures this time around, I'll have to post a few* from vacation's past, just for kicks (and so you can see just how lovely Santa Fe really is :)

Hello!

sitting fireside in Santa Fe, NM

Just wanted to say we are alive and well here in Santa Fe! It's been a lovely week -- lots of relaxing, movie-watching, family time and yummy food galore. But we are (unfortunately) coming to the end of our time here & it's back to reality for us this weekend. I'll be back posting NYC pics on here come Monday. Hope you've had a great week!
