400th Post.

When I logged into Blogger tonight, it informed me that I have published 399 posts. Which makes this my 400th post. Wow. That's a lot of writing!

I am happy that this blog has forced me given me the opportunity to write much more than I normally would (one of my goals when I started this back in 2007). And I am proud that I actually started something and didn't give up (sometimes I do that).

And so, in honor of my 400th post, let's go learn some fun facts about the history of blogging (just because):
~Justin Hall, who began a personal online diary in 1994 while a student at Swarthmore College, is generally recognized as one of the earliest bloggers
~Some early bloggers referred to their online presence as a zines before the term blog entered common usage
~The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger in 1997
~The term "blog" was coined shortly after (in 1999) by Peter Merholz
~Blogs started taking off in 1999, but didn't become mainstream until 2004
~About 175,000 new blogs are created each day(!!)
~According to BlogPulse, there are a whopping 146,106,259 (and counting) blogs out there(!!)
