10 months.

It's the last day of the month, and the eve of Miles' 11 month birthday, so time to write the 10 month update! 

As I type this our little man is sick for the first time :( So awful. Thankfully, he is sleeping soundly at the moment in the next room, and I'm just praying it's not a rough night for him. 

Anyway, some highlights from his 10th month (such a good month)! He is starting to look more and more like a little boy and less like a baby. The older he gets, the more fun this all gets, but it's also a bit nostalgic for me to watch this transformation...he used to be so tiny! And now look at him! 

The most exciting thing this month: this kid is *almost* walking. He is standing on his own pretty solidly and can now cruise around our living room with the greatest of ease (and speed!) holding onto various pieces of furniture, then effortlessly turning to grab onto something else. He allegedly took one step on his own while we were at the beach, according to Dan's mom and sister, but Dan and I both missed it! We've been trying to get him to do it again by coaxing him with toys and cheerios :) 

And speaking of cheerios, he is all about finger foods this month. It took him awhile to get the hang of chewing bigger chunks of food and feeding himself, but we kept reintroducing things like puffs and now he is a big fan of feeding himself. Cheerios, puffs and fruit top the list of his favorites. And he now has 8 teeth with more (we think) on the way.

His sleep schedule is pretty predictable now: 2 naps a day and sleeping through night more and more often these days (hooray). And if you want to hear his adorable belly laugh, all you need to do is burp...the louder the better! He also finds his own burps pretty hilarious and will look back at you to see if you think so too. Classic boy :)

Our favorite thing to do is head to the Great Lawn in Central Park where he takes his place at the fence and smiles at all of the people passing by. I can't tell you how many people we've met in the last several weeks because of this. Men, women, children -- no one can resist! He's such a little charmer...
