Spring and Central Park.

I love Springtime in New York City. Hard to beat. Especially in my most favorite place: Central Park. Sigh...magic. Here are a few photos from our frolic in the park on Easter Sunday. (more photos of that day to come, as well as Miles' 7 month update!) Sadly, these photos just don't do the park justice!

Boston blooms.

Near Fenway Park, Boston

No time to write tonight, drowning in artwork for the show on Friday. But look! The trees are really blooming in Boston (hooray!). AND it was about 70 degrees here today. We're hitting the Big Time here, kids! Whew, finally...

Colors of Spring (Hipstamatic-style).

buds & blooms!

Work and random errands brought me into Boston from Cambridge today, which was a real treat. The sun was shining, it was in the 50's (balmy!) and there were *actually* splashes of color here and there, which I haven't seen much of yet around these parts. It made me happy.

And in other random news: guess who seemed to pop overnight?! Me (and my belly), that's who. It literally seemed to come out of nowhere! It may be time to retire my jeans soon.

And (also randomly) a great article came out today in the Boston Globe about our show.....the Boston Globe! That's the Big Time! You can read that here.

That's all for now. Goodnight and Happy Weekend-ing (b/c I won't be on here after tomorrow's show, I am sure)!

(small)signs of spring.

fleurs!

Despite the frigid temps and more snow (noooo!) in the forecast, glimpses of these little guys around town give me *hope* for Spring...and good things to come like warmish breezes and t-shirts and non-furry-boot-like footwear.

p.s.: last year at this time we lived in New York and the weather was so nice that I could frolic around Riverside Park in a sundress and sunglasses with a cold Starbucks beverage in hand. sigh...(okay so it was kind of a fluke for March & lasted only a brief moment, but still...those were the days!).

Spring hopes.

on the boston t

The weather improved *just enough* today to make me remember what Spring feels like. Barely. Not that it was Spring-like, really, but the slight warmth of the sun when it peaked out from behind the clouds...wind that felt more like a breeze, rather than bone-chilling, tear-inducing gusts...it did help a smidge.

Ah, Spring...I am so ready for you (though I'm no fool -- March in Boston? It's going to be awhile, I know).

Yup, still love it...

sunday central park goodness

Just in case there was any doubt in any of our minds, I still heart Central Park. Very much. Especially when it's all green and lush and colorful and stuff. Don't be fooled, though. We didn't spend our whole weekend out in this loveliness, frolicking about. We were much too busy dealing with very glamourous New York things like furiously cleaning and fumigating our kitchen after the discovery of a bug infestation in our pantry (see? it's not all fun & games here). These pictures were taken as we very briskly walked across the park Sunday evening on our way to church on the east side. But even the too few moments I did have with my park took away all the bad (bug-related) feelings of the day. Sigh. Here are some of my faves.

and my favorite one of all...

Night Strolling.

I love this city at night. Everything is so twinkly and soft. Store windows glow, restaurants glow, street lamps glow. It's all just quite magical. And the last two nights have been a dream, weather-wise, making it impossible to resist the lure of the outdoors & the idea of a nice, long stroll. And so that's how we've spent the last two evenings. Here are is a collection of photos from those two night strolls (as you'll see, I am a little obsessed with the way the street lamps light up the blossoms on the trees. magic).

Happy Monday.

tulips on third avenue

We were back to New York late last night after a very full, very fun, very family-oriented weekend in the DC area. Starting in Northern Virginia with my family then ending in Maryland with Dan's family, we accomplished a lot of that celebrating I mentioned in the last post, all while soaking up some PERFECT Spring weather.

Here are some shots from the weekend (there were more I wanted to share ~ and with fancier formatting ~ but my computer is NOT cooperating & keeps freezing up & shutting down on me):

celebrations.

the upper west side ~ a snapshot of my day yesterday

speaking of yesterday (specifically, the buds), things are reeeeally in full bloom down here (down here meaning virginia, where we just arrived this evening. did i mention this? we are in virginia with family for the weekend celebrating all sorts of things. easter, babies (my brother & sister-in-law are having a baby! i am going to be an auntie!!), birthdays, etc.). anyway, everywhere you look things are blooming & sprouting & growing -- dogwood tree flowers, tulips, little leaves. everything looks so fresh & bright & springy. AND it's supposed to be in the 80's all weekend. the 80's!! which i so need right now -- still thawing out from all the cold NYC rain of late.

with all this celebrating, it might be hard to get on here again, so i think i will take tomorrow off. but i'll be back with (hopefully) lots of fun photos of the baby shower we're having & easter and the blooming flowers & all the rest.

have a beautiful easter & a very happy weekend!
