More Central Park (Fall) Magic.

A collection of more magical Central Park photos taken on my iphone. Here are some of my favorites from this past week. Sigh...what a dreamy place.
aaaand my favorite--->
:)
And in other news, Miles has decided that he doesn't like to sleep anymore. At least not at night. (I still do, very much). Whew. We've had some really rough nights the last few weeks and I am tiiiiired.

Hello, Tuesday...

A Fall day in Beacon Hill

This Tuesday brought me:

~prep work for my meeting tomorrow with a local Boston retail store featuring the work of various artisans & designers (perhaps me one day? :)
~editing/rewriting my NaNoWriMo novel from last year (the task that I have set for myself for this year's National Novel Writing Month -- quite the daunting/messy task, indeed)
~a constant stream of election news via CNN
~a mild cold that has left me sniffly, tired and a tad achy

And so I leave you with this lovely picture of a perfect Fall day (are we tired of me talking about Fall, yet?) not too long ago, in beautiful Beacon Hill.

Goodnight, all.

A Fall Dream...

Saturday was a Fall dream. A perfect New England Fall dream. Perfect weather (sunny, 68 degrees), perfect company (Dan...just Dan), perfect day (laid out below -- with pictures!).

First up, Russell Orchards, where we spent a few lazy hours wandering through the orchards, picking apples, eating apples, drinking cider, and relishing in some good old fashioned Fall fun.

Then we moved onto Gloucester, MA, which is an adorable little fishing town (as seen in The Perfect Storm and Mermaids) where we poked around a few stores & artists' studios, then grabbed lunch.

And then onto Rockport, MA, a town I immediately fell in love with for all of it's seaside charm and twinkle lights. Beautiful.

And then back home by 8:00 for a cozy night in and some take-out
(I love how close together everything is in New England -- daytrips!)

Happy (Fall) Weekend-ing!

a crisp & beautiful evening in Harvard Square

This week flew by, but I'm sooo glad the weekend is here again. The weather is supposed to be beautiful and Dan & I plan to do some lovely Fall things like apple picking and maybe a winery. And I can't let it pass without mentioning that this weekend (October 9) also marks what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday. Wish New York was a little closer so we could join in with all the voices that always gather in Strawberry Fields every year.

Wherever you are, whatever your plans, have a good one....and remember: all you need is love.

Summer to Fall (& the things in between, like: Friends & Weddings!)

chilly, wet walk to Harvard Square

Confusing temperatures happening around these (east coast) parts. It was hot, hot, hot & summer-like this weekend (which we spent in the rolling hills of Virginia for a dear friend's wedding ~ it was beautiful & fun & I got to sing them a song), but today was overcast and crisp and totally, wonderfully Fall-like. As much as I love sunshiney, summery wedding-weather, sometimes a gray, wet day is just what I need.

(And look! The leaves are even beginning to change!)

Fresh air.

Cambridge, Mass.

I am happy to report that today was a much better day than yesterday (and the ones before that). Partly because I really tried to find more balance with my work today, and partly because the weather was so lovely and cool. I could *almost* smell Fall in the fresh, crisp air, which made me SO HAPPY! Fall = new beginnings, fresh starts, cooler weather. All things I really need right now.

AND it's my first Fall in New England, which I am so looking forward to. Even though it is looking like it will be an incredibly busy season, I think I am ready to leave the sweltering summer behind and move into something new & fresh -- ideas, inspiration, life. Fresh air.

Boo

...a little break from the wedding recaps to bring you some Halloween cheer from me, Dan and Albert...(that's our pumpkin, Albert. We carved him that happy, little face right up here in our living room on the UWS. And I realized that Albert was the first pumpkin I'd carved in about 20 years. Albert has reminded me of the joys of pumpkin carving. And the fun that Fall can be)...

Happy Halloween, my friends. Hope it's full of your own Fall-Fun, spooks and Alberts galore.
